Sofia Pinero – The Ace

Sofia Pinero is a young doctoral student in physics, having earned a masters in Engineering from Purdue University.  Always ahead of her class in school , she skpped several grades but grew up self-conscious, wanting to fit in with her classmates but always behind socially.  A wallflower her whole life, she concentrated on her studies and developed inventions that she was able to sell to finance her higher education.  Her greatest invention, however, she has kept to herself:  Technology that creates a force-field around her that can slow the force of bullets to harmless levels, with the side benefit of increased power and speed for her own actions.

Her power bracelets are ready for real-world testing and Sofia is ready to break out of the shell of her youth!  She’s finally mature enough to take advantage of the opportunity for physical and emotional growth provided by the university experience.  Naturally athletic, she’s begun training to increase her strength and endurance, and she’s learning karate.  All so she can better utilize her invention in fighting the crime rampant outside the safety of her classrooms.  As she takes on the city’s gangsters, she’s learning a lot about who she is and who she wants to be, but she’s also learning her metamorphosis is not without danger!
