Taryn
Taken as a young girl and sold into slavery, Taryn acted as a chambermaid for a wealthy nobleman, until the night a young thief stole into her master’s abode and slit his throat! Certain her life would be better if she could just escape her servitude, the young maiden coerced the thief into taking her with him and taking her on as an assistant! She learned swordplay and knife-work, how to slip by in shadow or cause a distraction, and she lived free!

Lt. Ann Li of the International Space Exploration Agency is the pilot of the second crew on a deep space mission charged with helping get the craft back to earth when the ship is 20 years out! Kept in a stasis sleep which slows the passage of time on the outgoing voyage, Ann wakes to find the other tubes empty or broken and the ship empty except for one other lifeform! Even if she escapes the horror planned for her, she’s lost in space with no chance of return with countless possible fates awaiting her, most of which aren’t good!
